About CausePath

CausePath was built for NextStep Hacks 2026 to tackle a simple but real problem: plenty of people want to volunteer, but don't know where their specific skills and time would actually help. Instead of a generic listings site, CausePath asks about you first, then points to causes that fit.

How this works

CausePath scores 26 real volunteer opportunity types against the skills, causes, and availability you select — weighing cause alignment and skill overlap to rank the best fits. It's a transparent, rule-based match: no black-box AI, no hidden scoring you can't reason about.

Your privacy: everything runs in your browser. Nothing you enter — including your city or zip — is stored, saved, or sent to any server. Closing this tab clears it completely.
